1971 Porsche 911 S Targa – Gemini Blue Metallic, Originally Delivered in Germany, 3.0 Engine & 915 Gearbox
€ 114.000,-
For sale is a classic early 1971 model year Porsche 911 S Targa in its original colour Gemini Blue Metallic. The "S" model was the top of the 911 range at the time – uncompromisingly sporty, eager to rev and a source of endless driving pleasure. This originally German-delivered example was fitted in 2009 with a 3.0-litre Porsche engine and a 915 gearbox. This combination makes it even sportier, and it feels considerably more modern to drive.

General model history:
With the 1970 model year, the displacement of the Porsche 911 grew to 2.2 litres. In the top-of-the-range 911 S, the mechanically fuel-injected flat-six produced 180 PS – an impressive output for a lightweight sports car at the time. Alongside the coupé, the 911 S was also available as a Targa with a removable roof panel and a distinctive stainless-steel roll bar.
In the 1971 model year, only 788 examples of the 911 S Targa were built – the last year of the 2.2-litre engine before Porsche moved to 2.4 litres. The early "F-Models", with their slender bodywork, chrome details and purist driving experience, are now among the most sought-after 911s of all.
Driving Pleasure in Its Purest Form
The free-revving 3.0-litre flat-six comes from a 911 SC, whose engine produced 204 PS in its later specification from 1981 onwards. Paired with the precise 5-speed type 915 gearbox, also used in the SC, this classic delivers an analogue, unfiltered driving experience – combined with the light, iconic body of the early 911.
