Jaguar E-Type Roadster 1966 kaufen

1966 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 Roadster for Sale – OTS, Old English White, Originally Delivered in Austria

€ 119.000,-

When Jaguar unveiled the E-Type in March 1961, it caused a worldwide sensation: aerodynamic lines, top-class performance and a price far below that of comparable sports cars. The roadster quickly became a style icon of the 1960s.

From October 1964, the Series 1 received the larger 4.2-litre engine along with numerous improvements: an all-synchromesh four-speed gearbox, more reliable brakes with an improved servo, more comfortable seats, an alternator in place of the dynamo, and a switch to negative earth. Power remained at 265 bhp, but torque rose by around ten per cent. A total of 6,749 Series 1 4.2-litre roadsters were built, compared with 7,828 of the 3.8-litre roadster.

Explicit data about this car:

The car's history is fully known: the original Austrian registration document ("Typenschein") lists every owner since it was first delivered in 1966. The last owner acquired the car in 1998, and all invoices and service records since then are available.

  • Original colour combination: Old English White / dark blue leather
  • Original leather with a beautiful, naturally aged patina
  • Very well maintained and proven: participation in numerous classic car events, including the Südsteiermark Classic, Kitzbüheler Alpenrallye and Ennstal-Classic

About the engine: A 3.8-litre engine was fitted in the 1960s. On request, it can be exchanged for a very good, correct-type 4.2-litre engine, which is currently also installed in an E-Type.

This E-Type is not a museum piece but a road-ready sports car icon – whether for demanding classic car rallies or a relaxed weekend drive.
