It was sold primarily in the European and North American markets and competed with high-end open-top Gran Turismo cars from other Italian and British manufacturers. Despite its outstanding craftsmanship, powerful engineering, and elegant design, production remained relatively low due to its high retail price. A total of approximately 2,255 units of the 2600 Spider were produced between 1962 and 1965.<\/p><p><strong>Explicit data about this car:<\/strong><\/p><p class=\"p1\">The car was registered as a U.S. model in August 1963, but was registered in Germany as early as May 1964. It had only three owners through 2011.
