General model history:
In the early 1930s, an Austin 12 of this type with a Buick engine was registered for racing events at Brooklands.
The original vehicle has long since ceased to exist, but it was possible to replicate it faithfully based on contemporary documentation.
From the 1920s to the 1960s, it was common practice in racing and sports cars to combine lightweight, sturdy chassis with powerful engines from other manufacturers.
Explicit data about this car:
This vehicle was built in England in 2020 and is a replica of a corresponding vehicle that took part in races at Brooklands.
Due to the high-quality workmanship, no paintwork was required. The already powerful eight-cylinder in-line engine was additionally equipped with a supercharger, which – as in the original – is mounted in front of the radiator.
Despite its enormous length of almost five metres, the vehicle weighs only 1,140 kg. Its performance is equally impressive – it can easily reach a cruising speed of 160 km/h on the motorway. The large-volume supercharged engine with its minimalist exhaust pipe produces a characteristic and impressive sound.
Mileage since manufacture: < 3,000 km
Important note:
The vehicle has historical Austrian registration with all entries as well as English papers and can therefore be driven on all public roads.
