General model history:
An Austin 12 of this type with just such a Buick engine was entered in racing events at Brooklands in the early 1930s. The original vehicle no longer exists, but could be replicated using contemporary documents.
In the 1920s to 1960s, it was common for racing and sports cars to combine lightweight and stable chassis with powerful engines from other manufacturers.

This vehicle was built in England in 2020 and is a replica of a corresponding vehicle that took part in races at Brooklands.
No paintwork was applied due to the high-quality finish. The already powerful in-line eight-cylinder engine was additionally equipped with a supercharger, which is mounted in front of the radiator as in the original. Despite its enormous length of almost 5 meters, the vehicle weighs only 1140 kg. The driving performance is correspondingly high, and a cruising speed of 160 km/h on the highway is easily possible. The large-volume compressor engine with its minimalist exhaust pipe ensures a corresponding background noise.
