Explicit data about this car:
The Royale RP42 started life as a Sports2000 racing car, but was soon upgraded to a Group C car. The car was raced in the British Britsport Championships against Ferrari F40s, Saleen, Mosler and even McLaren F1s, with respectable results (documentation is available).
The car was repeatedly started and warmed up. I have a folder full of technical documents. The car is an absolute beast and would certainly have been more successful if it had been converted to 15” tires, because then there would have been room for a larger, more efficient braking system.
The individual components of the car alone are worth a lot as the drivetrain is identical to the Can Am race cars. The Royale biography “Nowhere to hide” mentions 2 Royale cars that were built according to Group C regulations. One is in America, the second is probably this car. This was also confirmed by Alan Cornuck (company founder) in a personal conversation.
There are also many photos and documents relating to this vehicle. These documents also show that both the engine and the gearbox were completely overhauled.
